After drawing interest from multiple teams, former Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Scott Brooks has reportedly agreed to become the next head coach of the Washington Wizards.

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reported Brooks and the Wizards reached a five-year, $35 million contract Thursday. Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today confirmed the terms.

On April 20, ESPN's Marc Stein reported the Houston Rockets were confident Brooks would wait until the Rockets' season ends before deciding on a new position.

The move is somewhat expected, as on April 18, Stein reported the Wizards "remain in pole position in the chase for [Brooks] with the Rockets still engaged in a playoff series."

On April 14, Wojnarowski reported the Wizards had made Brooks their primary target to replace Randy Wittman.

Citing NBA sources, Wojnarowski noted, "There had been some movement within the Wizards to pursue Brooks during the regular season, but the Wizards are expected to be aggressive in the marketplace with Brooks."
